Hello friends, have you ever experienced urinating and felt incomplete? Often, we consider this to be confusing and at the same time cause our concerns. Is this a sign that we have urinary tract stones?
Urinary tract stones themselves are an abnormality, namely the accumulation of crystals to become stones that cover the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. The size of the stones can vary, from small ones like sand to large ones.
Symptoms of urinary tract stones vary greatly depending on the size, location, and involvement of organs related to the stone. According to Dr. Eggi, if the size is small like sand, it may not cause any symptoms at all and can pass on its own through urine.
Urology Specialist, Eka Hospital Depok, Dr. Eggi Respati answered about the feeling of incomplete urination. He said that this is not entirely a sign of urinary tract stones, but it can be an entry point.
“Our bodies generally feel like they want to get rid of something through urine. This can be associated with infection. So, when an infection occurs, after urinating, because of the infection, it feels like we want to urinate again,” he explained.
“Well, actually, it’s just a feeling, a sensation of wanting to urinate again, that’s a sign of infection,” added Dr. Eggi.
According to him, urinary tract stones are indeed something else, not completely experience the feeling of incomplete urination. However, that doesn’t mean we’re safe, because this is one of the key signs that there could be stones.
“Stones are another problem, a different story. There could be stones, there could also not be. One of the keys or entry points for urinary tract stones is indeed incomplete urination,” he said.
Incomplete urination itself is a condition when someone feels like urinating again, even though they have just urinated.
This is because there is still urine left in the bladder. If you feel this, Dr. Eggi suggests that you get checked immediately, because it is feared that there is indeed an infection and urinary tract stones.
“If you do feel that, it is better to be checked first. Usually, the urine will be checked first. If the urine contains something like sand, then we can see oh this refers to urinary tract stones,” he concluded.
